Plant for recycling water used in spraying booths
The removal system for varnish sucked up from varnishing cabs produce very polluted waste liquids. Furthermore, servicing for removal equipment requires frequent cleaning and changes of washing water to prevent scaling. The Spruzzo Sed plants produced by S.C. enable a complete recycling of water in the removal tanks, after a clarification treatment of chemical coagulation. Thus, there is a reduction both in the polluting material conveyed to the discharge treatment and in the required time for maintenance and cleaning of removal systems.
Technical features
The Spruzzo Sed plants consist of a double reaction tank and of a distributor group for powdered coalescent. The water filled with colouring matters and resins reaches the first coagulation tank where it is added with the chemical product, then it passes to the second reaction tank, where the coagulation process is completed. The varnish particles are aggregated and can be separated by filtering or setting, according to the plant model.

In these models with a higher flow rate the separation takes place in a settling tank. The obtain sludge is drawn from the tank bottom and is furthermore dewatered by means of the above-described roll filter, while the clarified water is recycled to cab.

Plants schem
The Spruzzo Sed plants work on continuous flow and can be by-pass installed on a single removal tank, as described in the following pattem 1. But thanks to a high treatment flow rate, the same plant can be used for several cabs. In this case (pattem 2) two tanks of adequate capacity have be installed, the first one is used as a container for water to be treated; at the beginning of each working day, it is filled with the water coming from varnishing cabs. The second one is used as accumulation of treated water for filling again the removal tanks. By this procedure, Spruzzo Sed works in a completely autonomous way as regards the removal tanks and there is no functioning interference between the recycling plant and varnishing system.
Plant management
The management costs are mainly costs for buying coalescent products and filtering paper. The calculation of the quantities of coalescent and paper is based on the knowledge of overspray, that is the percentage of varnish that does not adhere to hides and is sucked up in the removal system. For a mean overspray value (30-50%) we can consider the following values.
